Destiny needs a path to run on.

As human beings, we are designed to seek purpose and meaning in our lives. It is the one thing that drives us, gives us direction, and helps us to focus our energies. And yet, many of us find ourselves feeling lost and without direction, struggling to find our way on this journey called life. In this blog, we will explore four key components from Ps. Russ Conway’s message that are essential to creating a clear path for our destiny. These components are Purpose, Alignment of Attitudes, Trust, and a Hearing Heart – which we will refer to as the PATH.

Purpose: Postured for Purpose and Presence

The first component of the PATH is Purpose. We are all created for a purpose, and our destiny is tied to that purpose. But in order to find that purpose, we must posture ourselves to receive it. We must be willing to listen and follow the voice of God, who created us and knows us intimately. The author of Hebrews reminds us to “run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2, NLT). We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, who knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). In order to find our purpose, we must seek Him with all our hearts (Jeremiah 29:13) and be willing to follow His lead.

Alignment: Of attitudes

The second component of the PATH is Alignment of Attitudes. Our attitudes determine our actions, and our actions determine our destiny. If we want to fulfill our purpose and reach our potential, we must align our attitudes with the word of God. In John 10:10, Jesus tells us that He came so that we might have life, and have it abundantly. But in order to experience that abundant life, we must be willing to let go of our old ways of thinking and embrace the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). This requires a willingness to submit our attitudes to the word of God and allow Him to transform our minds.

Trust

The third component of the PATH is Trust. Trust is essential to our relationship with God and to our ability to fulfill our destiny. In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are encouraged to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways so that He can direct our paths. Trusting God requires us to surrender our fears, doubts, and insecurities to Him and to believe that He has our best interests at heart.

Hearing Heart

The final component of the PATH is a Hearing Heart. In Proverbs 4:23, we are reminded to guard our hearts above all else, for it determines the course of our lives. We must be intentional about cultivating a heart that is open to hearing the voice of God and obedient to His leading. This requires a willingness to listen, to seek wisdom, and to follow His guidance even when it doesn’t make sense. Isaiah 42:16 reminds us that God will lead us on paths we have not known, and that He will make the darkness light before us. As we seek to follow the PATH, we can trust that God will guide us, and that as we align ourselves with His will, we will find the purpose and fulfillment we were created for.
