Day 1: Surrender & Commitment to fast

Romans 12:1, Luke 9:23, Psalm 37:5

Surrender is ‘yielding your rights and will to the Lord.’ As we begin this fast, let’s surrender to God’s will and commit to his ways. By saying, “God I trust your plan more than mine. I trust your ways more than mine. I trust that you have an outcome for me that is better than the one I can come to on my own.”

Let’s commit to actively participating in this fast with the help of the Holy Spirit. Let’s surrender our daily agendas to him and allow the Holy Spirit to take over and do his will in our lives.

Let’s reset and renew our minds with this prayer: Father, I desire to start this fast and complete it in Jesus’ Name. Through the Holy Spirit’s help, I ask that you renew my mind so I can submit to your plans and will for my life. I pray you will help me to present my body, soul, and spirit as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you, my God. Help me not conform to my desires and plans, but be transformed by the renewal of my mind with your guidance. I want to commit my way to you, trust in you My Lord, and I know you will act. Amen!
